Senior Lead Developer (MEAN Stack) in New York

One of these startups, Waft.com, is revolutionizing and disrupting the $73B industry of fragrance, letting you create your own fragrances. To accompany its hyper growth in the US and establish quality partnerships with the largest American retailers, Waft is looking for a Senior Lead Developer to be based at Waft’s office in New York City, USA to take ownership of the product development and be committed to the project's success. You will determine requirements and will be responsible for contributing to the successful implementation of Waft by ensuring that all the required elements are appropriately understood, documented, owned, and actioned.

■ Solid skill set in MongoDB, Express, Angular and Node.
■ Highly knowledgeable with Java and Python
■ Knowledge in bank older platforms such as .NET, or even Azure
■ Experience as a developer and technical leader, preferably managing high quality engineering teams (expert in code reviews and advising tech teams on ideal practices)

WHAT YOU’LL DO
■ Lead the technical development team in a fast-paced environment, creating new functionalities and enhancing existing ones in the web application, always with the highest focus on UX/UI design
■ Document accurately the specifications and wireframes
■ Implement requests in terms of modifications, bug fixes and short term featured add ons
■ Align and schedule backlog items into releases while maintaining the platform’s health and quality.
■ Collaborate with leadership team to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles
■ Work with development teams to ensure that they understand and embrace the vision to eliminate Technical Debt and are design the right solutions in scope
■ Inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency
■ Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally, and as the primary technical contact for queries related to the applications; as well as building good rapport with key stakeholders
■ Determine the right user experience and characterising it so that you can guide the team and effectively collaborate with its members.
■ Address key UX risks early on and use a backlog tool that allows you to effectively describe and test the desired user experience
■ Identify user research and product validation: to choose the right research or validation technique to learn about the desired use experience, to test UX assumptions, and to address UX risks; apply the method effectively.
■ Test the product after each sprint to assist the developers in the debugging and confirm the implementation accurately matches the designs and specifications
■ Future tasks: in developing a suite of longer-term improvement and optimization projects of our backend ecosystem which includes order management and sales/order activity dashboarding as well as the improving the suite of platforms used to process orders, create record keeping and reporting as well as data analysis
